Seniors face a different situation because they have to think about serious future employment.

For many bachelor's students in the Czech Republic, the only opportunity to earn extra money is to find a good “brigade.” The classic brigade is a part-time job for a certain period of time that does not require special skills and training, for instance, work in supermarkets, warehouses, delivering letters and leaflets.

After a night of drinking at the Mecca club, Block’s roommate threw himself against window, which gave way, leaving a four-inch gash on his arm and wrist. A cab was quickly hailed and took the pair to the nearest hospital.

On her fourth day in Prague Kelly Mytinger, an international student who came to study at Anglo-American University without the assistance of a program provider, found herself with an ear and sinus infection.

As she struggled to communicate this information to the receptionist at Fakultni Thomayerova Hospital in February, Mytinger took in her surroundings. Dingy. Sketchy. By around 3:30pm the Skinheads started gathering at the Charles University Law Faculty. In all there were twenty, the rest were Anti-Fascist demonstrators. More and more Anti-fascists started gathering, and then the police started showing up. The police came with armored trucks with crowd control panels welded to the front. The crowds were growing thicker, and then suddenly everyone rushed to the side of the faculty building. A man had taken a trashcan and started to bash a student's face with one of the narrow metal trashcans outside the building. After the attack the student disappeared as well as the attacker. A square foot sized puddle of blood was on the ground. About three feet away was the dented trashcan. On the wall, between the blood and trash can hung a plaque dedicated to victims of the Nazi occupation that were thrown over the nearby bridge May 5, 1945 as a result of the Prague Uprising only four days before the regime fell.

US students at Anglo American University are, like many thousands in the United States, mobilizing for the election.
Breanne Toney, a CEA study abroad student at AAU, used the website votefromabroad.org to register for her absentee ballot. "I thought that the website was very accessible... it was really a one-stop shop for all the information you need."

If you cannot live without text messaging, and your thumbs have actually hurt, then you are what the company Mozeo would call "textually active." This company, a new energetic startup based in Syracuse, New York, has fused the worlds of chat, blogs, and text messaging. Bringing them together has created an entirely new level of group communication.

As summertime nears, students plot their plans for months of freedom, the perfect chance for extended trips to explore new cultures. But preparing for life after college is also critical, and summer employment is a perfect way to do this. There are many opportunities to do both work and exploration, although few students take advantage of them, setting apart those who do.

From the first grade kids in school are always told by their parents to study hard and get good grades; not so much to be smart but to set their first steps into their future.
