Business Development internship at SEaS

Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability (SEaS) is searching for a dynamic Intern with a background in or related to business development and management.  This is a multi-faceted role which will challenge the Intern to develop or refine a wide range of skills.  The Intern will participate in the formation of an exciting startup organization aimed to support Czech enterprise, science, and research. In addition to extensive involvement with daily operations, the Intern will conduct key research and analysis that will become the basis in shaping the direction of the organization.

Specific work will entail responsibilities such as: market research; competition analysis; marketing & communications; working with various Czech ministries as well as EU funding sources; and working with various institutions and commercial organizations.  While this internship is initially unpaid, compensation may be possible upon substantial funding.

Beyond the initial internship period as specified below, the Intern may have an opportunity to engage in substantive work related to the organization. This involves the development and possible piloting of the operational framework, processes, and methodologies associated with the organization.

The Intern will receive:

  • Training, coaching, and mentorship related to the execution of above responsibilities
  • Participation in and insight on startup phase of new business (this includes high level thinking and planning of detailed efforts)
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Use of office space and associated ammenities
  • Priority consideration toward future employment opportunities. 

Requirements:

  • Commitment to three months program at half time (flexible schedule; routine office presence required; and casual attire)
  • Native Czech speaker with excellent English skills; excellent communications skills with both languages – reading, writing, and verbal
  • Minimum 3rd year student (2 years completed) with demonstrated interest and aptitude in business development and management; interest and involvement in social entrepreneurship and / or sustainability a plus
  • Analytical, cooperative, willing to learn, and ability to work independently
  • Although this internship focuses mostly on business planning and research, a minimal amount of administrative work is also required (i.e., scheduling meetings, organization, distribution, and maintenance of documents, taking minutes during meetings, etc.)
  • Prior to interview, sign non-disclosure agreement related to work
  • Use of personal laptop computer
