New psychological and career-building centers for AAU in 2011-2015?

In a 16-page report the president of AAU outlines the university's future

In the “Long-Term strategy” report for 2011-2015, approved by the President Alan Krautstengl, among many strategies and plans for AAU’s future development a few stand out. One being a mention of plans for new psychological and career building centers. As it is stated in the report the psychological advising center for AAU students is an “ongoing project.” Additionally, the career building and advisory center will be formed in order to help in the “transition of graduates to employability.”

Highlights from the report:                      

  • “Create an International Officeto improve the efficiency of international cooperation and  provide for Study Abroad Students and Degree Seeking Students.”
  • Electronic Registration:  “Replace routine student advising on enrollment to a semester by electronic registration and pay increased attention to specific student counseling.”
  • “Apply e-learning to facilitate access to study materials.
  • “Outline and implement e-learning methods to eliminate excessive printing of hard copies.
  • “The number of students enrolling has been about the same for the past few years, and the expected demographic decline in the number of Czech enrollees will duly affect also the Anglo-American university of Prague.”
  • “The number of new Czech (and Slovak) enrollees to B.A and M.A programs must not drop below two thirds of the present number of AAU students. “
